When the United States carried out a successful test recently of an advanced high-speed, long-range weapon ostensibly designed to reduce U.S. reliance on nuclear arms in a crisis, it set alarm bells ringing in China. Far from reassuring Beijing, the May 1 test of the sleek hypersonic unmanned aircraft, known as the X-51A WaveRider, has added to China's concerns that U.S. superiority in conventional weapons may make nuclear conflict more, not less, likely.
During the test, the WaveRider's scramjet engine ignited high above the Pacific Ocean, thrusting the demonstrator to a speed of nearly 6,245 kilometers per hour (KPH), just over five times the speed of sound. Scramjet stands for supersonic combustion ram jet, which has no moving parts. Fuel is mixed with air rushing into the combustion chamber and then ignited to provide power.
The WaveRider flew for 3 1/2 minutes on scramjet power, the longest such flight in history. At that speed, a flight from New York to Los Angeles could take less than 39 minutes.
While scramjet propulsion may one day be used in civil aviation and for outer space flight, the more immediate application is military. The U.S. Air Force, Army and the Pentagon's research arm, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), have been testing various super-fast unmanned aircraft over the past few years as part of a futuristic program called Prompt Global Strike (PGS).
DARPA has been testing an experimental arrowhead-shaped plane, the Falcon Hypersonic Technology Vehicle 2 (HTV-2). It is an unmanned, rocket-launched, maneuverable craft that glides through Earth's atmosphere at incredibly fast speeds.
The HTV-2 is designed to travel at 20 times the speed of sound, or Mach 20. This would cut the flying time between New York and Los Angeles to under 12 minutes, 22 times faster than today's commercial airliners. DARPA says that the ultimate goal is "a capability that can reach anywhere in the world in less than an hour."
The last flight test of the HTV-2 in April 2012 was only a partial success. After being released from its protective cover atop the rocket, it nose-dived back toward Earth, leveled out and glided above the Pacific at just over 20,900 kph for about nine minutes before the searing speed and heat caused parts of its carbon composite skin to peel away.
Initiated nearly a decade ago, after al-Qaida's terrorist kingpin Osama bin Laden eluded capture in Afghanistan, these PGS tests are intended to develop a weapon armed with a nonnuclear high explosive warhead that could strike targets anywhere in the world in an hour or less.
The U.S. Quadrennial Defense Review Report in 2006 said that the PGS weapons would hit "fixed, hard and deeply buried, mobile and re-locatable targets." At present, the only way the U.S. could with any certainty destroy such targets in an hour or less would be to use submarine-launched long-range ballistic missiles or U.S.-based intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs).
Like the PGS weapons now being tested, these rocket-assisted weapons travel at hypersonic speeds. However, they are all armed with nuclear warheads. So the result of a strike could be devastating, globally destabilizing, and out of all proportion to the terrorist or other threat.
Among early PGS plans were proposals to retrofit a small number of existing U.S. submarine-launched missiles or land-based ICBMs with conventional warheads. But Congress in Washington refused to fund these plans because of concerns that Russia and other nuclear powers would be unable to distinguish between a PGS launch and nuclear weapons launch, raising the risk of an unintended nuclear missile exchange.
Since then, the list of potential PGS targets has grown as terrorist groups and missile-armed states hostile or potentially hostile to the U.S. have increased in number.
A conference hosted by the U.S. Strategic Command last August discussed instances in which the White House might some day order a nonnuclear rapid strike. They included a sudden move by China toward destroying a critical U.S. or allied communication satellite by rocket or laser, a danger accentuated by what U.S. defense officials say was a high-altitude Chinese anti-satellite test on May 13, the third reported since 2007.
They also included a North Korean ballistic missile being readied for launch against U.S. allies Japan or South Korea, or against U.S. bases in either of those countries or on the U.S. island territory of Guam in the western Pacific. Iranian long-range missile launches, and terrorist assembly points for nuclear explosive devices or so-called dirty bombs that use conventional explosives to spread radioactive material, might be other reasons for a PGS weapon to be used.
The latest PGS tests by the U.S. worry Russia, but they worry China more because it has far fewer nuclear-tipped missiles that can reach the U.S. than Russia, and less effective systems for destroying incoming missiles than Russia. U.S. analysts estimate that China currently has a total of only a few dozen nuclear-armed ICBMs that can strike the U.S.
Writing on the China-U.S. Focus website on April 22, Major Gen. Yao Yunzhu, director of China-America Defense Relations at the Chinese Armed Forces Academy of Military Science, said that Chinese concerns stemmed from two facts:
o The ballistic missile defense systems that the U.S. and its allies had deployed, or were planning to deploy, in the Asia-Pacific region could intercept residue Chinese nuclear weapons launched for retaliation after China had been attacked, thus potentially negating the deterrence effect of the Chinese nuclear arsenal.
o The U.S. was developing a series of conventional strategic strike capabilities. When deployed, they could be used to hit China's nuclear arsenal.
Hu Yumin, a senior research fellow at the China Arms Control and Disarmament Association, wrote in January that the U.S. aimed to combine PGS with its space and anti-missile technologies to "form an integrated defense system, which could render other countries' strategic weapons, including nuclear arms, almost useless."
Hu was clearly referring to China. He added that this could put such countries in a dilemma: Either they would lose the ability to launch a strategic nuclear counter-attack or they would have to use nuclear weapons first to avoid devastation.
Chinese concerns are recognized by some U.S. officials and analysts. With swinging cuts in military spending biting in the U.S., the most likely outcome is a modification of the PGS program.

This summer Australian theater goers will be able to enjoy a production unlike any other, a play on alien abductions. The play is titled "Alienation", and is based off of interviews with Australians who believe they have experienced real alien abductions.

According to Perth Now, one collaborator with the play's development is Mary Rodwell, a counselor and therapist who helps people who believe they have been abducted by aliens. He says he was told they were extraterrestrial, and he noted that they appeared to be built for pilots that were small and humanoid.
He started telling friends about his work at the base, and even told them where and when they could view test flights. He and his friends were then busted and he was fired. So the story goes. The Air Force denies his claims. However, upon investigation, Knapp found that another top secret facility, Los Alamos National Laboratories (LANL) in New Mexico, had Lazar listed in their phone book. Lazar said he had worked there, but LANL denied that claim.
However, other claims by Lazar did not pan out. He said he received degrees from the California Institute of Technology and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, neither of which can be confirmed.

I received a great deal of email and interest from my article about the woman abductee I interviewed. The woman was the one of the most interesting people I have ever talked to. My article received a great deal of interest so I asked the woman if she would talk with me again. A few weeks ago she agreed and I was able to spend a few hours a day with her over a three day period.
My time with this woman was an extreme experience. I will be writing about our time together over the next few weeks. She requested I do a few things for her which of course I agreed to do. The first thing she asked me to do was to rewrite and re publish my article about the Fear. She felt it important for those who truly want to understand the subject of lost time events and abduction experiences to understand it from the eyes of those who have lived and survived it. She asked me to press the points I made in that article to my readers in hope the message would be clear to the truth of abduction.
I was a bit hesitant to fulfill this request. When I first published the on 'The Fear' it was received with a bored cool indifference. Others became angry and outraged sending me hateful emails for going against the fad at that time of warm fuzzy lovable aliens here to save mankind.
Time has passed and I seem to find a new far more logical realistic view breaking through the nonsense of the paranormal world. The trend seems to be bending now to consider those who report a far colder harsher experience by those enduring abduction or lost time events.
I am hopeful this time around my words are at least considered as a possibility by those who have taken off the rose colored glasses and are looking at the strange events of those enduring these events as possible and truthful.
That is the hope of those who have endured the unknown. They do not want attention or fame. In fact it is exactly the opposite with the abductees I have talked to. They do not want anyone to know they are dealing with this type of strangeness in their life and recoil if they are threatened with being identified. The main hurdle I always have is to convince those I interview that I will protect their identity before all else.
Although I write about all things paranormal my special interest is UFO's and aliens. The people I seek out to write about are those who report having real time sightings and encounters. For me real time events are those encounters that do not take place during bedtime or sleep periods. Real time events happen when the abductee is fully awake and clearly recalls being taken or the start of the event followed by knowing when they are returned.
Most often the actual event is memory wiped leaving the abductees with partial recall of what took place during the abduction. Some abductees recall being taken and nothing of being returned or vice versa. Others recall more of the time during the abduction while someone else may not recall any of the lost time. The main thing is that these events all take place while the person is busy living their normal life and fully awake.
The real time abductees are the people I find extremely interesting. My thoughts and warnings come from the combined interviews of those who have lived and survived through a real time lost time or abduction event. I have listened to them and I have collected what they think, feel and wish to pass on to those who are willing to consider their side of the subject known as alien abduction. I have a personal interest in this as well as I admit with regret that I belong to this group of people.
The woman abductee I recently interviewed wanted me to talk about 'The Fear'
The fear is the key that makes me pay close attention to those I talk to who claim they have had a close encounter with other beings. When I see or hear this fear that I have come to know so well- I listen. Reference to this fear usually persuades me more to believe who I am talking to.
This fear is so powerful you do not feel you will survive it. This fear is a heart stopping paralyzing sense so strong you are certain it will kill you. It is of absolute horror- a feel of fright that is like no other. It is a fear that life has stopped as you have known it and something else deadly and sick now replaces it. It is fear that changes you once you have known it and stays with you once you experience it. It is indescribable deadly and something I would not wish on any living being.
This devastating fear is what a human feels when face to face with a situation they do not think they will live through. It is a feeling that locks your senses and over takes your body with such power you do not think you will live another second. This gut retching fear is what is felt when you are alone looking into the non-human face of a creature you have never seen before.
This is what is felt when you have lost control of your surroundings and find yourself being completely controlled by others. This fear is what you feel when your destiny is in the hands of an alien and you are powerless and without choice in the matter. This fear is what those who are taken against their will feel when abducted by beings that are not human and are not asking but taking you without your consent. This fear is why I find those who go looking for aliens with flashlights and cameras extremely foolish and child like in their thinking.
I have been told there are abduction cases that concluded with the abductee having a wonderful adventure. I find it hard to believe anyone would enjoy being taken against his or her will under any circumstance. I have never heard of anyone being asked if they wish to be taken, examined or questioned. I have only been told of those who have been taken- against their will. That one fact seems to be the main truth of the alien abduction agenda- they take us without permission.Be it a child, teen, adult or senior citizen if they want you they simply take you. I do not find that friendly, fair or fun.
It would be far too harsh for me to say I do not believe the claims of those who talk about being taken by lovely beings who fly them about the universe in scenic flights while sharing a lovely chat about the meaning of life. I will say I personally do not find any interest in this type of report. I am far more involved and drawn to the less fabulous but far more realistic reports that have common threads that I find in those I interview and by way of my own encounters.
The common threads I found in those who report real time abductions include:

1. Being taken against their will
2. Not recalling the event in full however do suffer from hellish flash backs of things they do not understand
3. Suffer the incredible fear when encountering a partial memory or flash back.
4. Are fearful this will happen to them again
5. Many felt ill after the event and report having rashes, sick to their stomachs or have strange bruises or body changes that can last for years if not a life time.

There are exceptions with alien contact that take place when humans encounter the human like aliens that also visit this planet. I understand people who have had face-to-face encounters with beings that fit in with our concept of humanoid looking creatures have a far less traumatic close encounter.
I have spoken with those who have had encounters with human looking aliens. They told me they were cautious knowing they were in contact with a creature that was not human but did not have the deadly fear of those who encounter other forms of aliens. As comfortable as they may be with this type of visitor it is always clear they are having an encounter with a non human being and caution remains paramount in their dealings.
The fact of the matter is that being taken is terrifying. Being viewed with the same attitude we view monkeys or lab rats is an extremely frightening event to endure. The reason I understand this is because I have known this fear and I have shared this feeling with others like me. It is a mortifying experience to be on the wrong end of the microscope. It is something that changes your life and cannot be placed aside or forgotten. It is a hard world to be in when those who have no idea about these things mock and ridicule you for talking about your encounters making them even crueler and harder to endure.
Every time I write about my own experiences I receive two types of emails. One is from those who have been enduring the same things and have lived through abduction. The other emails are from cruel nasty people attacking me for writing the truth about these things. I receive emails from those who never had any type of sighting or encounter yet send hate filled name calling insulting mean spirited mail. I can only assume doing this somehow calms the fear they have of paranormal subjects. The only other reason for this reaction concerning something they have no knowledge about would be a brain washed trained trigger or simply ignorance.
I imagine I make those who wish to live in fantasy angry and frighten those who do not want any of this to be true. It is sad but that this is the nature of humans. They quickly become unkind and vicious to those who do not tell them what they want to hear and filled with anger at those who talk of things they do not want to be real.
I cringe each time I read or hear about people who go to deserted areas in order to draw the attention of unknown crafts and beings to them. I can only shake my head as I listen to ideas of using laser lights, radio signals and even camp fires and smoke signals to try to draw the creatures of the unknown to their location. I have discussed this with other abductees and we can only wonder what in the world are these people thinking? We cannot think of anything more dangerous or reckless and fear for those who do this type of thing.
I am curious how they know they will catch the attention of kind benevolent beings? I wonder how they would feel if emotionless beings who care little about the human race arrived, took them and what they wanted from their bodies and discarded them when done like worms or rats.
Do they really think that this type of careless action could not bring them harm? Are these people living under some ridiculous notion that nothing bad will ever happen to them? This type of reckless dangerous behavior has always been a mystery to me.
I think until you experience 'THE FEAR ' that goes hand and hand with a real time close encounter with a being of unknown origin you cannot understand the emotional life long horror that follows abductees through each and every day. That fear is why I write and why I will stand up for those who live daily with the fact they were taken.
Be careful out there and always be fully aware of what you wish for. Some dreams do come true and those nightmares can last a lifetime.

Scott Colborn began his life-long interest in the paranormal at age 8 when he received a gift in the form of a pictorial book on UFOs from a colleague of his agronomist/scientist father. Scott originated the "Exploring Unexplained Phenomena" radio talk program with then co-host Ray Boeche in 1984, and the "EUP" program continues every Saturday morning 10 am - 12 noon Central Time. Ufo Sightings Remarkable Eyewitness Reports 02 July 24 2013
4TH OF JULY, 2013... MIDDLESEX NEW JERSEY
Ken...I am writing to you because I looked up NJ Mufon and it led me to your page. On this 4th of July 2013, my brother and I saw something in the sky around 11:00. It would be hard to say that on the 4th of July we saw something in the sky at night with out someone saying it was fireworks but I can tell you we did see something that wasn't normal and I actually saw it twice a few minutes later.
As always on the 4th, my family has a big bbq and yes we do shoot fireworks lol. However after shooting our fireworks, I was always taught to clean up and sweep the street when we are done. That night after cleaning up the street and house, my brother and I were in our backyard finishing up before calling it a night.
We were all done with the fireworks as were the few other neighborhood kids that usually break the law in lighting fireworks. We all tend to finish early as to not disturb the neighbors to late.
As I was walking to turn off the gas for my bbq, from the corner of my eye I noticed something white and orange moving slowly across the sky. I started to focus on it as I thought it was possibly a firework but I hadn't heard any sound of it taking off? So I watched it slowly dropping down and getting slower as it did. I thought to myself, what the heck is this? Can't be a firework. It was moving for almost 10-15 seconds and then it just stopped falling and held perfectly still. I know my fireworks as I am almost 37 and have probably had or shot every possible firework there is and there is nothing that can or does this.
So I started looking at it and it was just floating perfectly still. It looked like an orange ball with a sliver/blue ring around it,. The orange was way more prevalent when it was moving but I could still see the orange when it stopped. I called my brother and he joined me in looking at it. He had no idea what it was either. So we watched it for what seemed about 30 seconds. Then, it seemed to slowly fade out, almost like a light inside a car when you close the door. It took about 15 seconds I would say until it faded out.
So we looked at each other asking what could this have been? We then walked inside scratching our heads. Once inside, my wife asked me to bring out another bag of garbage. So I went out the front of my house to bring out the trash and as I did I walked into the street to spray some more water onto the swept up mess from the fireworks. Once I got into the street which was maybe about 3 minutes from when I walked into the house from the yard, there it was again.
Only this time it was all the same color. It seemed more in the silver-ish glow color but the shape of it was more defined. It actually looked like a mini planet of Saturn, but it was tilted forward a bit. It's hard for me to say this, but my eye site is actually terrible. But that is what makes me more sure of what I saw. It was so clear and defined. I was not mistaken by any means. It was not a plane, not a helicopter, not a firework, not a bird.
I went into the house to get him, but by the time I got back outside, it was gone again. This thing was there and we saw it.
I wasn't going to write anyone about it as I thought, who could I tell anyway. Well I have recently returned to work as I had off from July1st-14th. I was telling some of my co-workers and customers about my vacation and what I did. I have jokingly been telling them that my brother and I saw a UFO.
Well today I was talking to one of the other managers at work about what happened and she almost jumped out of her chair when I said we saw one on the 4th. She said her and her father saw it too ! She even mentioned that a friend of hers, who also lives close to here, posted something on his face book, "did anyone see something weird like a UFO in the sky on the 4th?" She said she asked him what he saw and he told her something very similar to what we saw.
I work about 1.5 miles from my house and she lives about maybe 2.5 miles from me. I am not sure where her friend lives but they both live in Woodbridge. I live in Edison. I don't know if you have heard of any reports but I can tell you, there was something there with 100% certainty. "Note: The above image is a rendering. Special thanks to the witness J. CASE 2. FAST MOVING UFO SPOTTED OVER LAKE ONTARIO
JULY 12, 2013 HAMILTON ONTARIO CANADA
I live in a marina. We were out on the terrace enjoying the evening coolness. Mostly clear sky with some clouds. Quarter Moon in the West. My wife was facing south, looking out into the harbour. I was facing her and looking into the harbour.
All of a sudden she shrieked my name and said look up. Thankfully she pointed directly up but slightly left. Thankfully I looked up over my left shoulder into the sky above. And I saw it as it flew over our roof and flew across the harbour and across Lake Ontario. It was a huge oval, very brightly lit...whitelight. For want of a better description the light pattern within the oval looked snowflake like.
It was travelling at a great rate of speed. Hard to judge, but I would say faster than our fastest jet. As it crossed the lake towards the City of Toronto it just vanished.
We were stupefied at first. Then we looked out at the other terraces. We only saw two other couples having dinner but from their angle and the fact they were in strong conversation it was obvious they missed it. Several of the boats were occupied but again people were drinking and conversing and looking down. I saw no sign of commotion. So I had to assume we were the only ones who witnessed the event.
Unsettling because other people would have added to confirm what we saw. My wife and I quickly went over the facts and we both were in total agreement with what we saw, in terms of height, angle, size, color of lights, rate of speed. We stood out on the terrace for the next half an hour. We stared out at the lights of Toronto. Which is about 25 miles away as the crow flies. Approx distance. There was a cloudy skyline. Twice we saw a huge oval light pop up and seeem to hover and pulsate. It was a mixture of color in terms of light. White and orange. It seemed way too large to be a plane going to or coming from the city airport. I could observe a few planes in the sky during this time in and around Toronto and they were small pinpoint white lights that you usually associate with a passenger jet.
What the two appearances were I cannot speculate. They appeared for ten seconds and disappeared. Perhaps my eyes were playing tricks on me. But the original sighting of the huge oval is definitive to me. I know that was something I was seeing as it was and that it was something I have never seen before. All I can say about the appearance of the two quick hovering light events over Toronto within 15 minutes of the incident is that we sit on our terrace all the time at night and look out at Toronto and I've never seen those two light events before. CASE 3. MYSTERIOUS OBLONG UFO WITNESSED OVER MASSACHUSETTS
JULY 16, 2013...HOLYOKE MASSACHUSETTS
I was talking to my husband on the telephone when I noticed the oblong object approaching my house and traveling over the tree line and coming across the Connecticut river to the Holyoke side. The lights were really bright.
I could tell it was not a plane or helicopter as the shape was different and it made no sound. It traveled very slowly and appeared to hover at times. I ran out on our deck as it disappeared when crossing over my house. It was really strange. The phone and electrical service in my house were not affected.
The next morning I went out into my back yard and noticed lots of dark spots on a new stone patio that we just had put in. The spots do not come up when scrubbing them. It just looks like something dark splattered all over the patio. The spots do not appear to be oily, they almost look like burn marks. There are also some spots on an area of shingles on the roof of my house.
I did not hear anything about this on the news, however I decided to Google and see if anyone had reported seeing anything. Sure enough someone in the Belchertown and Amherst Ma, area reported a sighting on the same date and just a little earlier than when I sighted the object. This makes the fifth sighting for me in the past 40 years. "Note: The above image is a rendering."
CASE 4. FREINDS WITNESS AN AMAZING UFO TRIANGLE OVER CANADA
JULY 21, 2013.. MISSISSAUGA ONTARIO CANADA
Me and a few friends were walking to the store at around 3:30am to get snacks. We walked through a large park with soccer fields, baseball fields and lots of open space surrounded by a forest. I saw the triangular shaped UFO flying relatively low over on of the soccer fields and it flew directly over us and continued on its path. I know this was not a plane or helicopter as I am very familiar with those. I saw the object peak over a line of trees and it immediately caught my attention as it did not look like anything Ive ever seen before and I tend to pay lots of attention to the sky above me anyhow.
When I got a good look at it, I knew it was a UFO. I didnt think it was anything else. It moved along one path making an odd hovering sound ("hmmm"). It had 2-3 solid red lights on it that were large and circular and at least 1 white light that was a bit smaller and blinked a few times. Its hard to explain and be sure, though.
When I saw it, I stared at it until I lost sight of it totally and about 5 seconds after watching it I had concluded that it was the classic triangle-shaped UFO. I was very excited though, as this is the first time Ive seen a UFO that was undoubtedly the same kind many other people have reported seeing. All other "sightings" Ive had were too high up and hard to tell if it was just an ordinary plane. I lost sight of the object when it went behind another line of trees and out of my view.
After the sighting, I looked up triangular UFOs and me and another friend that saw it agree it looked exactly like the picture I have attached.
Let me be clear that this is NOT a picture of the actual craft that we saw but it looks exactly like it. Earlier in the night the four of us were getting into some really deep conversations about spirituality and how we got here and annunaki and higher intelligence, E.T.s and these types of subjects. It was one of those conversations where you just really feel on to something different. I really believe that our conversation and the UFO sighting are related.
