Bill Moore, UFO investigator and author, has learned a great deal about thegovernment coverup of UFO information over the years. Those who play it are completely aware that an operation's successis dependent upon dropping false information upon a target or `mark', in such away that the person will accept it as truth and will repeat, and even defend itto others as if it were true. One of the key factors in any successful disin-formation scheme is that it must contain some elements of truth in order to becredible. Once the information is believed, the work of counterintelligence iscomplete. They can simply withdraw in the confidence that the dirty work ofspreading their poisonous seeds will be done by others." Some of the most frightening and bizarre stories about UFOs and visitorsmay well be lies that originated with disinformation experts and are innocentlyspread by gullible people who do not bother to check facts, but who love agood story. And some of the people telling these tales may not be so innocent-they may be disinformation experts themselves. While there is no final proof that the U.S. government has sponsored disin-formation programs concerning UFOs, the circumstantial evidence is growingstronger every day. It is a matter of record that at least one individualspread disinformation in this field while working as a government employee inan intelligence-related job, and the revelations of Bill Moore and others in-dicate that false stories have been planted among UFO researchers for years. Certainly something strange happened outside of Roswell, New Mexico in Julyof 1947, when Air Force officials retrieved some debris with properties thatdid not fit any known technology. According to Colonel Jesse Marcel, who gavea number of videotaped interviews before he died, and who was responsible forthe recovery of this debris, the fact of its extreme strangeness was covered upby the Air Force. This coverup took place when the cold war was just starting and America wasentering a period of near-paranoia over the issue of Soviet expansionism.America's obsession with secrecy began when President Truman created the CentralIntelligence Agency in 1947 in order to obtain information about thethreats being made by the Communists after the second world war. Ever sincethen, Americans have been told less and less about what is really going on inour government. As Norman Thomas, who unsuccessfully ran for President manytimes,said, `Where the secrets start, the republic stops.' We may live in ademocracy, but we cannot have an effect on policy which we know nothing about. When Bill Moore became a director of the now dormant APRO (Aerial Phenome-na Research Organization) in 1979, he became acquainted with the work beingdone by Paul Benewitz and Dr. Leo Sprinkle with a young woman who rememberedbeing abducted and witnessing cattle mutilations. Bennewitz had become con-vinced that aliens had implanted some sort of communication device in the wom-an's head, and that they were using this device to control her actions. Since Paul Bennewitz was a physicist, he had a certain amount of electron-ics equipment at his disposal, and he set out to determine whether he could de-tect the electromagnetic signals he believed aliens must be using to exercisecontrol over their alleged victims, and to try to devise a way to shield vic-tims from the control of these signals. He told APRO in late '79 that he be-lieved he had succeeded in detecting low frequency signals from UFOs and hadbegun to make calculations about the sort of electronic and propulsion technol-ogy employed by the aliens. He also began to take pictures of strange lightsmaneuvering in the vicinity of the Manzano Nuclear Weapons Storage Facility,which is located to the east of Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque. Ben-newitz had a perfect view of the weapons base from his home in the Four Hillssection of the city. Bill Moore says, "In early September, 1980, I was approached by a well-placed individual within the intelligence community who claimed to be directlyconnected to a high-level project dealing with UFOs. This individual told methat he spoke for a small group of similar indiivuals who were uncomfortablewith the government's continuing cover-up of the truth and indicated that heand his group would like to help me with my research into the subject in thehope and expectation that I might be able to help them find a way to changethe prevailing policy and get the facts to the public without breaking anylaws in the process. The man who acted as liason between this group and myselfwas an Air Force Office of Special Investigations agent named Richard Doty. Iknew I was being recruited, but at that point I had no idea for what." It soon became apparent to Bill that he was expected to supply informationto this individual about the activities of Paul Bennewitz and APRO in exchangefor being given `sensitive' (or presumably classified) information on UFOs.Bill realized that, whatever it was Bennewitz was involved with, he was thesubject of considerable interest on the part of not one but several governmentagencies, and that they were actively trying to defuse him by pumping as muchdisinformation through him as he could possibly absorb. Bill decided to playalong with these government agents so he could learn more about the disinfor-mation process by witnessing it firsthand. Bennewitz, for his part, continued to make what seemed to be increasinglybizarre claims, most of which gave every appearance of having been influencedby a heavy blanket of disinformation mixed with a small, but significant,amount of truth. The problem was always one of keeping a level head and tryingto sort the fact from fantasy - something which Paul Bennewitz was having ahard time doing. "By 1981", according to Bill, "Paul was gathering data from a variety ofsources and amalgamating it with information being fed to him by a number ofgovernment people in whom, for some reason, he seemed to have an implicit andabiding faith. The story that emerged from this melange of fact, fiction, fan-tasy, heresay, hard data and government disinformation was absolutley incred-ible! Yet somehow, Paul believed in it and set out on a one-man crusade totell the world that malevolent aliens from space were in league with our gov-ernment to take over the planet. What had begun in 1979 as an effort to learnwhether the behavior of a woman who claimed she had been abducted by UFO alienswas being influenced by some sort of radio remote control had, in the space ofless than three years, blossomed into a tale which rivaled the wildest sciencefiction scenario anyone could possibly imagine." Bennewitz continued with his experiemnts regarding the radio signals he wasreceiving and the film footage he was getting of unusual lights. Both of thesephenomena seemed to be largely connected to activities within the Kirtland AFBSandia National Labs complex just south of the city of Albuquerque. Bill feelsthat Bennewitz definitely was receiving some sort of low frequency electromag-netic signal on his equipment, and is equally certain that his photos and filmsdepicted unusual lights, most of which were filmed while hoovering or maneuver-ing over the Kirtland/Sandia complex. The real question is whether this evi-dence was sufficient to conclude that either of these phenomena was directlyrelated to UFO activity, or whether, in fact, the strange things he was witnes-sing had to do with some classified government research project going on near-by. Either reason would be a good explanation for the government's counterin-telligence activities in this case. Bill reports that government survelliance of Paul's activities, some ofwhich Paul was astute enough to detect and some of which Bill learned aboutbut Paul seemed unaware of, included wire taps and even break-ins. "Paul tookthese activities as proof positive that he was onto something big. Unfortu-nately, he seemed largely unaware that the same people who would go to suchlengths to spy on him also had the capabilities to mount an effective disinfor-mation campaign." In any case, by mid-1982, Paul's story contained virtually all of the ele-ments found in the current crop of rumors being circulated around the UFO com-munity by people such as John Lear. There were two groups of aliens, one mal-evolent, one more friendly. The malevolent ones, which he referred to as the`greys', were really in control, and they were the ones responsible for thecattle mutilations, for human abductions and the implanting of sinister controldevices in humans, for having first made and then broken a secret treaty withthe U.S. government, for maintaining a secret underground base in Dulce, NewMexico, and for having supplied the U.S. government with alien space hardwareand weapons which ultimately proved defective or which were caused to crash,thus leaving human civilization virtually defenseless against invasion. Bill Moore says, "I know that this whole body of information if false, be-cause I was in a position to observe much of the disinformation process as itunfolded. And I can tell you it was effective, because I watched Paul becomesystematically more paranoid and more emotionally unstable as he tried to as-similate what was happening to him. He had guns and knives all over his house,had installed extra locks on his doors, and he swore that `they' (meaning thealiens) were coming through his walls at night and injecting him with hideouschemicals which would knock him out for long periods of time. He began to suf-fer increasing bouts of insomnia. I knew at that time that he was not far froman inevitable nervous collapse. His health had deteriorated, he had lost con-siderable weight, his hands shook as if from palsy, and he looked terrible. Itried to counsel him to drop the entire UFO thing before his health was com-pletely destroyed. Not long afterward I heard he had been hospitalized and wasunder psychiatric care." The disinformation campaign was also effective because it insured that noone in the mainstream media or scientific or scientific community would payany attention to the outlandish claims that Paul Bennewitz made. Thus the ele-ments of truth that were conatained in his experiments became lost to the pub-lic forever. Were UFOs ever actually involved with all of this? Bills says we may neverreally know. Perhaps Bennewitz had merely stumbled upon signals generated fromsome sophisticated, high-level government project whose security people hitupon UFO-related disinformation as the ultimate cover. Or perhaps he discovereda real government UFO project which elected to disinform him to protect whatthey were really doing. The one thing that Bill does know from first-hand ex-perience is that there was a tremendous amount of government disinformationinvolved, and that a large proportion of what we are hearing today about mal-evolent aliens, underground bases and secret treaties with the U.S. governmenthas its roots firmaly planted in the Bennewitz affair. "The current crop ofdisinformation is really nothing new; it's just that a different crop of peopleare spreading it this time around," says Moore. From this experience, and from his other research, Bill has come to theconclusion that the U.S. government counterintelligence people have conductedan on-again, off-again campaign of deception and disinformation against theAmerican public about the UFO phenomenon for more than 40 years. He feels thatthe people who have been responsible for the operations are highly placed indi-viduals within the intelligence community. There are several possible explana-tions for this situation. One, the disinformation could be a security cover fora real UFO project which exists at a very high level and is known only to an e-lite few. Two, it could be a security process designed to divert attention awayfrom real, but non-UFO related, high tech research and development projects.Three, it may be a manipulation by UFO aliens themselves as part of a longtermplan to gradually make human society aware of their presence here. Bill's po-sition is that the truth is best described in terms of a combination of all ofthe above. Full Description of event/sighting: I am a business traveler staying in Sydney NS. I was helping a friend move into her apartment on Friday night, when across the Sydney bay (and I mean hundreds of feet) I saw 3 large very fast moving red/orange lights sweeping across the sky - back and fourth, like they were playing with each other. It felt like they were kids playing a very fast game of keep-away!
I have never in my life seen anything this amazing. Fast is not even the word for the speed and maneuverability of these crafts. One of the locals who was helping us move looked up and said "yea, yea......you live around here long enough and those things are not even interesting anymore." I found this attitude to me amazing ! These folks have secrets, and they are sick of telling people about this as no one believes it. I have no reason to make this up. I just wanted to share the story.

This happened on Saturday night (6/1/13) at approximately 8:30 PM. We were traveling North on McQueen Road and stopped at the intersection of McQueen and Riggs Road in Chandler, AZ. I was sitting in the passenger seat and noticed multiple orbs flying low in the sky from the North to the Southeast. I quickly jumped out of the truck to capture a video of the event. The video does not do what we witnessed in person ANY justice. It's hard to tell from the video but these lights were orange/reddish in color and we could not hear any sound coming from them. As they flew by us towards the East more started to appear from the North. I shot 1 minute and 40 seconds before we headed back to the truck to follow them. It took maybe 30-45 seconds to get back onto Riggs Road heading East and by then all of the lights had completely disappeared.

The President of the United States just started his second term. Europe seems to be out of economic critical care. China and Russia face plenty of challenges, but the governments are fairly stable right now. There is no great world disaster in need of immediate attention. In short, Earth is a relatively calm place. So, how about now for First Contact space aliens? If you're waiting for us to pull our collective human act together, this may be as good as it gets. Sure, Egypt is going to hell and Syria is still a bloody mess. But we can handle it. First Contact would be an incredible distraction for humanity. In a critical moment, such as the Japanese tsunami disaster or the height of the European debt crisis, such distraction could be a real problem. The entire world needed to mobilize to help the Japanese, especially in light of the nuclear crisis. The European Union had to make tough decisions to find a road to economic recovery for Greece, Spain and Italy. You wouldn't want to make contact during a crisis of such an immediate nature.
I'm not saying that there are any extraterrestrials out there waiting to say hello. Even if there are extraterrestrials in the neighborhood, they may have no interest in making contact with us. But one would imagine that if extraterrestrials were interested in making contact, timing would be everything. If they care about human reaction they would want to plan the big hello very carefully.
This scenario makes a couple of big assumptions. The first assumption is that aliens would care about human reaction to First Contact. The second is our perspective on timing. The extraterrestrial concerns over timing in First Contact could be very different indeed. They might have criteria that would never even occur to us. As usual, we view First Contact through the lens of human perspective. The alien point of view would likely be quite different.
Still, if extraterrestrials were concerned about human reaction, picking a time of relative calm would be a good idea. Dramatic First Contact would be a big shock to our system. It might be best to approach us when we can best handle it. Better get on it space aliens. Calm is unlikely to last very long on the third rock from the Sun.

With two dozen rockets projected to blast payloads into orbit, Cape Canaveral this year hopes to claim the title of "world's busiest spaceport," the Air Force's 45th Space Wing said Tuesday.
"It's a great time to be here," said Col. Thomas Falzarano, commander of the Wing's 45th Operations Group. "Business is booming."
Falzarano presented the Eastern Range launch forecast to several hundred guests at the National Space Club Florida Committee's meeting in Cape Canaveral.
Weather, technical issues and program changes frequently delay launches, so it's likely some of the missions will slip into next year. But the forecast shows the Space Coast launching at an increasingly busy clip even without human spaceflight missions, which aren't expected to resume for several years.
The 2015 forecast anticipates United Launch Alliance matching last year's total of 10 Cape launches, including eight by Atlas V rockets and two by Delta IV rockets.
And it assumes as many as 14 launches by SpaceX. Last year had six Falcon 9 flights.
That was SpaceX's most launches in a calendar year, but five fewer than was projected last January.
This year the company hopes to activate a second launch pad, complementing its existing one at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.
The debut of the Falcon Heavy rocket from a former Apollo and shuttle pad at Kennedy Space Center would be one of this year's most highly anticipated launches.
In addition, SpaceX plans to launch more ISS resupply missions, and commercial and government satellites.

ULA's first launch of the year is coming up Tuesday, with an Atlas V targeting a 7:43 p.m. liftoff with a Navy communications satellite.
The Boeing-Lockheed Martin joint venture has its usual slate of high-value science and national security missions. The manifest includes a roughly 1 billion NASA science mission, an X-37B military space plane and more Global Positioning System satellites.
Overall last year, the 45th Space Wing supported 16 space launches - five less than projected last January (all attributed to SpaceX) - plus two Trident missile tests launched from submarines.
That ranked the Cape No. 2 behind the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakstan, Falzarano said.
But with 24 missions potentially on the books this year and more than 30 in various planning stages for 2016, Falzarano said the Eastern Range is facing its busiest two-year stretch in more than two decades.
"The Cape, right here, is going to be the busiest spaceport in the world," he said.
